You know the shoes, stylish designs and the copyright red soles. Then there’s the make-up collection offering luxury and style.  A recent make-up event showing us the latest Tape A L’Oeil eye colour.  It’s a cream to powder consistency which makes it very easy to apply and smooth around the eyes for definition.  There are six shades available in varying colours of Matte Nudes and Metallic Eye Colour £38. It gets my vote as an easy way to create a dynamic eye colour with instant impact.  Available now online  ChristianLouboutin  and on counter.

From the simplicity of Julien MacDonald to the inspired colourful textile driven Sadie Williams.  Karen Louise the lead nail technician takes the motor world as inspiration.  Here you can see intricate patterns of motor motifs such as chevrons, checked flags and lightening bolts.

Karen says, “We used an array of ORLY contrasting colours to achieve this look..” taking her ideas from a very textile driven style on the runway.

Karen predominantly used ORLY Breathable Treatment + color for the base colour. This meant a base coat and top coat didn’t have to added.

If you want to be seen and heard then anything controversial has it’s benefits. Absolutely love Rhianna’s style wearing Maison Margiela by John Galliano.

The Met Gala Charity Ball 2018 Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination had every one dressing up with impressive head turning fashion styles, hair and make-up.

With so many crowns, halos and clips on show the hair needed to be smoothed or tied back into ponytails. Trichologist Anabel Kingsley (Philip Kingsley) suggests the cult product pre-shampoo conditioning treatment Elasticizer £32, to keep the hair permanently soft and supple before styling.  I’m certainly a fan.

One More Day dry shampoo £17 helps to give the hair lots of texture perfect for headpieces and clips. Dry shampoo creates volume whilst soothing and clearing the scalp at the same time.

For smoothed down and parted hair at the front. Gigi Hadid & Kendall Jenner have managed to sweep the hair over the ears for a clean sharp look.  PK’s Preen Cream £19.50 tames any frizz and leaves the hair shiny and glossy. Any flyaway’s PK Prep Polishing Balm £20 feels like a serum and will help to prevent any static.  All products and the latest information are available here at PhilipKingsley

From hair to make-up and Charlotte Tilbury’s team of artists helped to create these make-up looks below. Here’s just a few of the stylish make-up products used..

Kate Moss seen here prepping before and then after on the red carpet at the Met Ball. Kate puts her glowing skin down to a skincare product that’s currently a daily routine. “I’m obsessed with Decorte’s Vitality Tincture”, says Kate, “It saturates the skin with moisture and makes my skin look and feel amazing. It’s my absolute favourite product”. The Vitality Tincture is a super soft oil infusion essence which drenches the skin with hydration, plumps the complexion whilst calming any irritation or inflammation. It makes the skin come alive and glow like nothing else.

Beautiful looks from the Japanese make-up brand Suqqu created by make-up artist Naoko Scintu seen at David Korma London show.  Subtle, fresh,  timeless and easy to apply.  I’m a fan of this brand and have used many of their products including their brushes.  Products used to create this look are listed here.

Get the look..

New Blooming Glow Primer followed by lightly applying the New Nude Wear Liquid Foundation.

Blemishes and shadows under the eyes use the Face Designing Concealer where needed.

It’s usually the t-zone that needs a light brushing and the Natural Covering Loose Powder will do the trick.

Eyebrows are filled in with the Framing Eyebrow Liquid Pen No 3 and then brushed with an Eyebrow Gel.

For the eyes a Limited Edition Designing Colour Eyes 116 to add a light wash.

Using Suqqu Eyeliner Brush ( my personal favourite ) apply the Eyeliner Creamy Black halfway along the lower lash into a feline tick and then along the top eyeline.  Set with a Natural Cover Powder to reduce smudging.

Black Natural Curl Mascara to the top lashes only.

For the apples of the cheeks add a little Extra Glow Lipstick 110 followed by the Pure Colour Blush 107. Highlighter HO2 across the bridge of the nose, cheek bones and cupids bow.

The final touch with the finger tips add the New Flawless Lip Gloss 01.

One of the best nights of the year celebrating with hairdresser Ricky Walters Salon64 and his latest concept in hair salons. At first glance this salon feels like a welcoming metropolitan boutique hotel. The furniture’s stylish, practical and very comfortable. Each station’s well equipped to cater for the millennial lifestyle. Clients are able to sit together in a communal way privately with plenty of space.  The focal point being you and the fire place for those cozy winter appointments.  These images are from the ground floor.  Official pics taken by photographer  @francescoRusso

The next two images are the lower level with the wash,  further hair stations and a place for nail spa treatments.  It’s the sort of place you’ll really enjoy spending time and never want to leave.  For appointments it’s easy to book online  Salon64  14 Bateman Street,  London, W1D 3AG

Just to balance the official pics above. I took these while the party was in full swing. This one below is the owner Ricky Walters. Certainly wish you every success.  Thank you Fluorescent PR.

Triumph & Disaster had something to say in the infamous Snooker room recently at the back of the Groucho Club in Dean Street London’s Soho. In the image above is the latest edition to this range created by New Zealander Dion Nash the international cricketer in 2011.  Logic Skin Toner a Witch Hazel Toning Lotion refreshes, hydrates and cleanses the skin before a moisturizer.  It’s usually the men who borrow the skin care on the quiet. Well it’s going to be the reverse with brands like these. Personally I like brands designed and marketed to both sexes. It certainly feels like the future of skincare.

Two great recommendations are the Sunscreen SPF 50 that doesn’t leave a white film over the skin. YLF on the right happens to be an all rounder in the shower for the face, hair and body.  Often simplicity is the best answer.

I met photographer Diana Gomez briefly at the LFW China Ball Fashion Show at the Natural History Museum London.  So when I received a press release from the PR I wanted to cover this exhibition.  I’m totally in love with the visual experience of the FREE WOMEN installation of these life size portraits.  You still have a chance to drop by Pikes Hotel Ibiza as it finishes on the 30th September. Diana’s images are from a feminist – driven perspective, semi- autobiographical and influenced by her Latin American roots. Women here paint their nails in bright colours, adorn their ears with statement jewellrey and influenced by music and rhythms from birth. The women here are portrayed as confidant and empowered as it’s Diana’s intention to send a message to live your life on your own terms, rules and feeling comfortable in your own skin.

These striking portraits are beautifully staged with immense colour, optimism, and passion.  They have a wild, hedonistic feel that’s upbeat with a hint of sex, drugs and rock & roll to add to the excitement and mix.  Diana’s Latin American roots really shine through these images and are full of personality, drive and charisma.  This is the perfect location for this type of photographic installation under the hedonistic skies of the infamous  Pikes Hotel  Ibiza, where it has it’s own distant, crazy, checkered, colourful past.

This Exhibition are Portraits by Diana Gomez at Pikes Hotel, Ibiza in support of The Teenage Cancer Trust. Key portraits were sold and 20% of each sale were given to the charity. Money raised here will go towards world class specialist units, hospitals and homes across the UK.
