Follow the link to KarenBeadle for background details and knowledge of my experience as a working hair and make-up artist. I’ve written as a beauty editor for Paul Mitchell Luxury Hair Care company for five years, sourcing backstage beauty shots from the photographer Robert Fairer. I worked for many years with Robert and sponsored by Paul Mitchell Hair company for as long as I can remember. Contributing to newspapers, magazines and blogs about my expertise in skin care and make-up. My experience helped me teach make-up skills in schools that include ten years devising and teaching short make-up courses at Morley College, London SE1.
I love the unconventional which always leads me to work on diverse and creative shoots for both hair and make-up. I’ve worked with magazines, newspapers, including Kiss & Tell stories in the past (shhhhh don’t tell anyone), film, tv, music, advertising in stills and commercials.
Here’s some of the crazy things I’ve done with hair and make-up. Created make-up, styled cut & dyed wigs for BBC’s creative intros, painted the face of a replica 60’s Twiggy mannequin for Seat cars, painted the face and body of a Maori Warrior for Yellow Pages, impaled a well known actor with hand made arrows for the Iconic The Face magazine based on the Catholic religious icon Saint Sebastian (who happens to be the Patron Saint of soldiers and athletes), painted red lips for Coca – Cola poster campaign for Moscow Russia’s Red Square that stood for six months in the 90’s, Kirov Ballet posters when the company visited London UK, and finally corporate films including (can you believe) party political broadcasts…There are many more..

I love my work as it’s allowed me to see inside many people’s lives over the years and hear these stories first hand. So I’ll continue to share about trends in hair, make-up and skin care while continuing to work hands on as a hair and make-up artist.
